Construction of the Ungheni-Chișinău gas pipeline will begin in June
Construction of the Ungheni-Chișinău gas pipeline will begin in June. The announcement was made by Minister of Economy, Chiril Gaburici, during a meeting with a team of experts from International Monetary Fund, led by Ben Kelmanson, who is currently visiting Moldova.
The officials informed the experts that the Government passed a bill on compensating people who own real estate on the land where the pipeline will be build and will sign a contract with Transgaz Romania by the end of March.
The project is meant to extend the Iași-Ungheni pipeline to ensure energy security for Moldova. The expenses rising to 105 million euro.
IMF experts appreciated the new method of calculating the electricity fees, as well as the "Good roads for Moldova" project, which will following be implemented this year. They believe it to be an ambitious project that will benefit citizens of Republic of Moldova.
