Cooperation intensified within Siret-Prut-Nistru Euroregion members. Topic discussed by Premiers of Moldova and Romania
Local cooperation between Moldova and Romania was topic discussed today at the Forum of Presidents of the Siret-Prut-Nistru Euroregion, attended by the Premiers of two countries Pavel Filip and Viorica Dăncilă.
Pavel Filip appreciated the platform activity, which gathers 39 districts in Moldova, Bălți municipality, ATU Gagauzia and 3 counties in Romania - Iasi, Prahova and Bistrita-Nasaud.
"This platform is extremely necessary to establish new partnerships, to exchange experience and obtain practices", said Premier Pavel Filip.
Moreover, Pavel Filip urged the local authorities, members of the Siret-Prut-Nistru Euroregion Association, to take opportunities offered in this cooperation format.
Additionally, Pavel Filip assured of the entire opening of the Government in the communication with the local public administration, mentioning that the dynamics of the dialogue is a priority for this year, as evidenced by the frequent meetings with the local authorities organized lately.
Romanian Prime Minister Viorica Dăncilă confirmed that the Chişinău and Bucharest Executive Agencies are planning to extend the good cooperation at the central level in the local administration segment, this cooperation being essential for the European path of the Republic of Moldova. The Romanian official also stressed the relevance of the activities carried out by the Association, mentioning the need to intensify intercultural exchanges.
In turn, the members of the Association sent a thank-you message to the Romanian authorities for financial assistance in the realization of various social projects. Also, the meeting participants analyzed the status of current activities and outlined the priorities for the next period.
The Association Siret-Prut-Nistru Euroregion was established in 2005. Its aim is to improve the relations between local communities and central authorities in order to ensure the sustainable and balanced development of the regions. The Association's activities cover various areas of interest, from economy, infrastructure, agriculture and rural development to education, information society and culture.
