Cooperation Moldova with UN Refugee Agency, tabled at MFAEI

Aspects of the Republic of Moldova's cooperation with the UN Refugee Agency (UNCHR) were discussed at the meeting of Mihail Căpăţînă, Secretary General of State of MFAEI, with Jon Hoisaeter, Deputy Regional Representative of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees for Central Europe.
The discussions focused on optimizing the work of the UNHCR Office in Moldova, examining the possibility of modifying the working model with the UNHCR Office (Chisinau), respecting the rights and freedoms of refugees, asylum seekers, applicants for international protection.
The Moldovan official has informed the interlocutor that the Republic of Moldova has ensured the transposition of the European directives into the national legislation, by adopting the appropriate legal framework, creating and consolidating the institutional system in the field of asylum, and creating the necessary infrastructure for its functioning.
In his turn, Jon Hoisaeter appreciated the progress made by the Republic of Moldova, welcoming the advanced level our state has reached in the chapters under discussion.
