Court hearing in Lucinschi's case postponed due to last witness's health issue
The court hearing in Chiril Lucinschi's case was postponed again. The reason is that the last witness of the prosecution, the Mayor of Orhei, Ilan Şor, did not appear. According to the prosecutor, the official informed the court the absence due to health problems.
"The Code of Criminal Procedure requires that the witness is to be summoned five days before that hearing. Since the court hearing was only one day, we can not incriminate Mr. Şor that he presented himself unmotivated" said Eugen Rurac, prosecutor.
Former deputy Chiril Lucinschi, charged with money laundering, hopes Ilan Shor will be present at the next hearing on December 6 and will testify.
"Mr. Şor was not present due to health problem. So I want to wish him feel better and will be able to come in next meeting", says Chiril Lucinschi, a former deputy.
Chiril Lucinschi was detained on May 25 in the file of frauds at Banca de Economii, Banca Sociala and Unibank and is under house arrest. The former deputy, being the manager and the beneficial owner of two companies, together with three interposed persons, laundered money in particularly large proportions. The persons concerned in this file risk up to 10 years in prison.
