Court rejects release of cops accused in 'Andrei Braguţa' file
The three preventive detention isolators in the "Andrei Braguţa" file remain in custody.
The Chisinau Court of Appeal rejected the appeal of the lawyers who demanded the release of the defendants.
Thus, the decision of the Chişinău Court was kept according to which the police were placed in custody for 20 days.
In this case, there are also three detainees, suspected of beating Braguţa in the isolator. They are still under preventive arrest.
Andrei Braguţa was detained on August 15, after driving the car at an excessive speed and on the counter. He cursed the cops and jumped.
Braguţa died on Aug. 26 in Pruncul Penitentiary. According to doctors, the cause of death would be purulent pneumonia. Four policemen and five prison staff of prison no.13 and no.16 were suspended from office following this case.
