Customs officers salaries will be increased, starting 2017. This will be possible after the reorganization of the Customs Service, which involves reducing management positions for the benefit of all employees, which will allow cost optimization.

Also in the institution's budget will be provided means for remuneration of customs officers based on performance.

Prizes and awards will be 10-15 percent of salary. Currently, a young specialist receives from 3,000 to 3,500 lei per month.

But in 2017, compensation will reach up to 10,000 lei.

According to authorities, the reform will significantly improve the quality of services provided in customs and will positively influence the business climate in the country.
