Customs Service enhances systems for Easter Holiday
Increase the number of staff and verification equipment and the involvement of heads of customs posts and their deputies in the customs clearance are some of the main measures ordered by the Customs Service to streamline cross-border traffic during the Easter holidays.
In the intensified working regime, anti-fraud officers will also be deployed in the customs posts. They will be present 24/7 to retrieve documentary frauds from inspectors from the control line.
Two Corridor system will be applied to four of the most demanded customs posts: Sculeni, Leuşeni, Giurgiuleşti and Tudora.
In order to avoid a possible extension of the waiting time to customs caused by overburdening of crossing points, the Customs Service recommends that cross-border traffic participants opt for all existing customs posts. Information on border customs posts can be found by accessing the Interactive Crossing Point Map, available on the Customs Service website.
Cross-border traffic participants can also plan their optimal route by accessing TRAFFICKING ON LINE, where they can view in real time the number of transport units that are at the most crossed transit points.
For those intending to cross the customs border, the Customs Service has established the Unique Call Center (+373 22 574-111), where they can request information and consultations on the rules for the crossing of goods and transport units across the customs border, as well as reported possible acts of corrupt behavior or abuses committed by customs officers.
