Customs Service revenues in state budget increased by 1.7 billion lei in 2016

Customs Service has collected over 1.7 billion lei more to state budget in 2016 compared to 2015. According to a press release of the institution, the proceeds are approximately of over 750 million lei more compared to authorities' forecasts.
In 2016, the revenues of the Customs Service brought to state budget were of 17.5 billion lei.
The petroleum products hold the largest share of 24 percent of total imports, while tobacco products hold a share of 12 percent.
Earlier, the Director of the Customs Service, Vitalie Vrabie said that the increase in revenue is due to reforms in the institution, particularly following the intensification of the anti-fraud activity.
