Customs Service will ensure traffic flow during winter holidays
During the winter holidays, Moldovan Customs Service will operate with all energy to ensure the acceleration of the cross-border traffic and the reduction of the customs waiting time.
The measures, ordered by the Customs Administration, provide for the use of all available control lines and the coordination of control actions with homologous authorities in Romania and Ukraine, so that customs clearance procedures are accelerated on both sides of the border.
In the case of increased flow attestation, the number of employees and control equipment is supplemented if necessary. Customs control is also carried out by customs heads and their deputies.
Please note that an intervention group is set up within each customs post. Its members, if necessary, are recalled in service and engaged in customs control.
At the same time, customs frauds detected by first-line inspectors are to be taken over by specialists from specialized subdivisions, who will be on duty 24/7 so as to exclude the risk of delaying customs control because the inspector track is involved in documenting recorded fraud.
The Customs Service recommends that cross-border traffic pass through all existing border customs posts in order to avoid overloading only some of these. Information on border customs posts can be found by accessing the Interactive Crossing Points Map.
For those intending to cross the customs border, the Customs Service has established the Unique Call Center (+373 22 574-111), where they can request information and consultations on the rules for the crossing of goods and transport units across the customs border, as well as reported possible corruption or abusive behaviors committed by customs officers.
We would like to mention that the participants in the cross-border traffic can plan their optimal route by accessing the website of the institution, TRAFFIC ON LINE, where they can view in real time the number of transport units that are in the most transit points.
