Almost 600 children have run away from home this year, and over half of them are girls. The date of police shows that the most vulnerable are the rural children of 14 to 15-year-old.
The main reasons would be family misunderstandings, looking for a seasonal job or the desire to become independent.
Police say they are potential offenders or victims of crime.
285 children of the streets have been identified after raids conducted in the capital.
On December 6th, a 15-year-old teenager from Hancesti town ran away after arguing with her stepfather. The girl slept in the woods for 2 nights.
