DEATH IN NORTH OF COUNTRY. PCCOCS prosecutors conduct searches in several stores
Several North American shop searches conducted by Prosecutors of the North Office of PCCOCS together with officers of the Specialized Subdivisions of the Customs Service. The shootings are taking place in a criminal case filed for smuggling goods illegally introduced into the country through the green border of the border.
Documentation on this case began in August. The suspects bought goods from the "KM 7" market in the city of Odessa and introduced them into the country with a boat.
Four members of the group were detained on Saturday night at a warehouse in a garage in the city of Rezina. Initially, they refused to comply with legal requirements and barricaded in the room, forcing the access door.
After the intervening group entered the improvised warehouse, several bundles of clothing and footwear were found, in assortment, without documents of origin. Their value was estimated at over one million lei.
Immediately after the outbreak, PCCOCS prosecutors, together with officers of the specialized customs subdivisions, launched a series of searches at the homes of detained people as well as at several commercial points in the northern region of the country.
In total, 58 searches have been carried out, resulting in the smuggled goods being detained as well as other persons related to this case. Both the people who organized the clandestine introduction of goods and the merchants who sold them are targeted.
Until now, the value of the goods found during searches exceeds 1.5 million lei.
The three suspects were detained for 72 hours. In the event of conviction, they are at risk of imprisonment for a period of 3 to 10 years.
