Development project for UTA Gagauzia, supported by EU, were presented in Comrat
The social-economic development projects of UTA Gagauzia supported by the European Union were presented today in Comrat. At the event participated Pavel Filip, the prime-minister, Peter MIchalko, the chief of the EU delegation to Republic of Moldova and the beneficiaries of the projects financed by EU in Gagauzia, mayors, entrepreneurs and residents.
The six projects that were presented tarted the support offered for the Gagauzia public authorities, strengthening the civil society, developing the agriculture and local entrepreneurship. Pavel Filip, the prime-minister visited the projects and discussed with the beneficiaries about their activity.
The prime minister thanked the EU for their support offered to our country and highlighted that this is very important in the context of a great reform process.
At the same time, the prime minister said that these projects are a good example of local authorities involvement in the local activities.
"Not everything depends on the local authorities. Thank you for your initiative. We should work together to find a solution for all the problems and provide better life conditions", mentioned the prime minister.
At his turn, Peter Michalko, the chief of the EU delegation to Republic of Moldova talked about the projects realized in Gagauzia, that will develop the life conditions.
"We have a common vision: the public authorities have a great role in the chances that might occur in a society. There are a lot of opportunities to access the funds aimed to develop the environment", said Peter Michalko.
EU is a leader at the offered financial assistance. Staring the cooperation with our country, the EU offered us over than 900 million euros.
