Diaspora Relations Bureau launches new subprogram of grants for Moldovans from abroad
The Diaspora Relations Bureau (BRD) of the State Chancellery in partnership with the International Organization for Migration (IOM), Mission to Moldova, launched a new subprogram of grants “Diaspora crowd funding projects”, Moldpres informs.
Four grants of 1,500 Swiss francs will be offered to Moldovans from abroad for supporting the use of national and international crowdfunding platforms aimed at carrying out social and sustainable projects in Moldova.
Projects providing for an online fundraising campaign, proposed by Moldovan diaspora members, private people or initiative groups, and carried out till 1 June 2017, will get funding.
BRD head Olga Coptu said “the support provided within this subprogram will be in line with the matching grants principle. The grants will be transferred conditionally upon successful completion of crowdfunding campaign and collecting through it an amount equal to the grant. This mechanism will allow us to boost the use of online platforms for involving the diaspora representatives in implementing social and sustainable projects. Online multi funding will provide possibility to all those interested and involved in developing projects for diaspora to get necessary funds in a transparent, fast and accessible way,” Coptu said.
Application documents can be submitted online on 10 October – 30 November 2016.
