The former Chisinau mayor Dorin Chirtoacă remains under judicial control for another 60 days. The decision was taken by the Buiucani Office of the Chişinău District Court, after the anti-corruption prosecutors requested the court to extend the preventive measure for another two months.

Lawyers of the former mayor said they would appeal the decision to the Court of Appeal.

Dorin Chirtoaca was arrested by anticorruption prosecutors and CNA officers in May 2017. He is accused of influence and corruption in the filed of paid parking, where he pleads innocent. Former Mayor of the Capital risks up to seven years in prison.

At the same time, he is also suspected of overcoming his duties in another investigation.
