Drivers obliged to turn on headlights at daytime starting November 1st
Drivers are obliged to turn on the headlights at the daytime starting November 1st.
According to the Road Traffic Regulation, p.34 (3) (i): to alert other road users and to signal vehicles in case of daytime driving, drivers must turn on headlights between November 1 and March 31.
The National Patrol Inspectorate reminds drivers that the rule is valid until 31 March.
"Fine for drivers is not provided but if drivers are noticed not following this rule, they can be forced to pull over for their safety," said INP press officer Alina Bunghez.
However, drivers can be fined one thousand lei if they don't have proper tires for snow.
These measures are applied during the cold period of the year, characterized by unstable weather, accompanied by rain and fog - that reduce traffic visibility, increasing the risk of road accidents.
