Drivers pulled over to get information about fuel-efficient tires
The spring weather helps us give up boots and encourage drivers to remove winter tires.
All drivers have been pulled over by policemen and the Energy Efficiency Agency inspectors.
The drivers received leaflets about how to choose fuel-efficient tires.
After police officers explained to drivers about the importance of changing winter tires to summer tires, inspectors from the Energy Efficiency Agency informed drivers of new labels which will appear soon based on a bill of Government.
Agents will have to inform their buyers the fuel-efficient tires. In Europe, this project was implemented in 2012.
Over 900 thousand cars were registered last year in Moldova. A latest data say that if all vehicles use gas-efficient tires, at the 10,000 km, fuel savings will reach up to 5,4 thousand tons, or 86 million lei. Moreover, 13,000 tons of C02 will be reduced.
