Dumitru Mînzărari and Mircea Dușa agreed to increase the number of joint military exercises
Dumitru Mînzărari has met on Wednesday his Romanian counterpart, Secretary of State for Defence, Planning and International Relations Policy of the Ministry of National Defence, Mircea Dușa, within a reunion of a mixed committee Moldova-Romania, as well as a new round of a strategic bilateral dialogue on defense.
During the meeting, Mircea Duşa confirmed Romanian's support for Republic of Moldova's European integration, including through defense assistance programs.
"As you know, Republic of Moldova, is not only a simply neighbor country for Romania, but a strategic partner. I wish to assure that relations with Republic of Moldova remains a constant priority of the Ministry of National Defense" Mircea Duşa said.
Secretary of State Duşa claims that the constant progress of the two states in bilateral relations, including the already implemented projects, as well as the judicial cooperation, staff training within bilateral and multilateral exercises where the army of both states participate, wrote Agerpres.ro.
At the same time, Mircea Duşa claims that Romania has increased the number of available places for citizens of Republic of Moldova in various military training courses, among the new fields being military medicine.
The officials from both countries have also agreed that this year, the number of joint military training will increase.
Romanian Secretary of State reiterated the wish to open a mixed unit that will respect all conditions of Republic of Moldova's neutrality.
Dumitru Mînzărari express his gratitude for the support offered by Romania to this point, assuring the Defense Ministry of Republic of Moldova will continue its efforts to modernize the Armed Forces, especially in terms of training and gear.
During the strategic dialogue, the two official analyzed the regional security and perspectives of cooperation between Republic of Moldova with EU and NATO.
At the end of negotiations of the experts from the mixed committee, the two Secretaries of State will sign "The Bilateral Cooperation Plan between the Ministry of National Defense of Romania and the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Moldova for 2018".
