Dumitru Volosin, the 43-year-old athlete is the first Moldovan athlete to run the North Pole Marathon.
Our man had to suffer the -30 degrees frost during 42 km in 5 hours, 3 minutes and 26 seconds.
"It was hard as it was really cold. All those who ran alongside me dressed skis masks to keep their face being frozen, but I decided to run without equipment, because I could not run fast" , said the athlete, Dumitru Volosin.
After the marathon, the participants could not leave the North Pole because of the frost which cracked part of the take-off runway. The athletes stayed for a day in the Barneo resort, and Dumitru Volosin decided to try his powers in duathlon. This sample includes running and cycling.
"The marathon participants said I was a crazy Moldovan. I ran and just ride my bicycle at a temperature of minus 30 degrees."
The athlete reveals he wants to join the Boston marathon.
