E-Governance to upgrade online service. 80 training centers to be built
Only 24 percent of the country's citizens are using the services provided by the Electronic Governance Center.
In order to popularize the online process, at least 80 training centers will be built in the country in the next five years.
Also, all online services will be upgraded as part of a project launched by the Government in partnership with the World Bank Group.
Moldovans can use the single window shop for public services since 2010. Thanks to this, people can request 18 documents from the Civil Status, such as birth certificate, marriage or divorce certificates.
Citizens can also ask for the criminal record if they need for job application.
However, officials say only over 20 per cent Moldovan citizens are using online services.
"In the poorest parts of the country which constitute 40 per cent, only 6 per cent of people having access to online services.
There are also difference between rural and urban population in term of digital service access", said Anna Akhalkatsi, the World Bank representative in Moldova.
In the next five year, these services will be upgraded in order to attract more customers and help the Electronic Governance Center keep up with new technologies. Accordingly, some services will be totally excluded or merged with others.
The modernization program is worth $22.4 million. Moldova received 15 million as a loan, 5 million as a debt, and the Government's contribution is almost 2.5 million lei.
