Over 8 000 citizens, representatives of local administration and NGOs, will be informed of the new voting system that will be used at the general elections from this autumn.
Electoral Commission launched a campaign "Democrația contează" (Democracy Counts), where a tours around the country will be made by the of May.
The meetings are expected to be attended by officials, teachers, territory representatives. They will receive information on the new changes in the Election Law, the importance of voting and the role of local leaders and of diaspora.
The meetings will take place in 16 election district from the country. The mixed electoral system foresses for 51 deputies will be elected in uninominal constituencies, and another 50 by proportional representation.
