The European Union Ambassador to Moldova, Peter Michalko, has shown he is also good at tennis. The Slovak official participated in a charity tournament with his wife.

The diplomat was one of the 48 participants in this year's first sports event organized by Hospices of Hope.

"I'm very happy to be here. It's the opportunity to contribute to the event with good purpose, to support people who need our helps", said Peter Michalko, EU ambassador to Moldova.

The Slovak official admitted that it is not the first time that he plays table tennis.

"Tennis is my favorite sport, I often played it when I was young", said Peter Michalko, EU ambassador to Moldova.

The money collected will be offered for development of national networks of palliative care and for the support of organizations that help incurable patients.

"About 2000-2500 euros, this is the amount we have proposed. I think we will certainly reach it because people are very generous," said Peter Michalko, the EU's ambassador to Moldova.
