EU continues support Moldova: The first batch of medical equipment arrived in Cahul and Ungheni districts
The European Union's aid reached Moldova: the first batch of medical equipment arrived on April 24 in Cahul and Ungheni districts. EU-funded transport includes more than 23,000 masks, over 20,000 disposable caps, nearly 2000 protective uniforms, 80 thermometers for remote temperature monitoring, sterilizers and about 10,000 liters of disinfectant.
The aid is intended for employees of district hospitals, public health centers, local volunteers, as well as people from vulnerable groups.
"These grants, donations, will certainly have the necessary impact to reduce the spread of this virus. Thank you very much, we hope that these grants will be an incentive for other institutions to repeat this beautiful and heartfelt example, We deeply appreciate this support." said the mayor of Cahul, Nicolae Dandiș.
The Ambassador of the European Union to the Republic of Moldova, Peter Michalko, claims that the protective equipment and medical devices are aimed at protecting those on the front line, who are endangering their own safety to save lives during a pandemic.
