EU will support socio-economic projects in Gagauzia and Taraclia
The European Union will support socio-economic development projects with a total value of 2.76 million euros for Administrative Territorial Unit of Gagauzia and Taraclia, writes Moldpres.
Funds will be provided under "Agriculture and rural development support in Gagauzia and Taraclia" project, implemented by United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).
According to a press release of UNDP, new created companies (start-ups) and small and medium enterprises (SMEs) already existing in the region will be supported. Renovation projects of small scale infrastructure and intercommunity cooperation will be financed, to improve the standard of living and quality of local public services, and to stimulate partnerships between neighboring communities of Gagauzia and Taraclia.
Competition for project proposals was launched today at an information session in Taraclia town.
Funded by the European Union with 6.5 million Euro and implemented by UNDP, the project aims to enhance the cooperation between central and local authorities and between regional organizations in Gagauzia and Taraclia in order to stimulate socio-economic development and Moldovan region as a whole.
