Europe welcomes progresses in settling Transnistrian issues - European Council President Donald Tusk
European Council President Donald Tusk welcomed the progress made by our country in settling the Transnistrian issue. In addition, during the Brussels talks with Prime Minister Pavel Filip, the European official encouraged the authorities to continue the reform agenda to strengthen the European profile of the country.
The agenda of the discussions included the priorities of Moldovan domestic and foreign policy and the evolution of our country's relationship with the European Union.
Premier Pavel Filip pointed out that the results achieved in the last 2 years in the implementation of the Association Agreement are very encouraging for the European path.
The head of the government said many provisions have already been made and others are in the process of being adopted. Philip also said that the authorities will ensure the correctness of parliamentary scrutiny, according to democratic norms.
Regarding the Transnistrian issue, the European official reconfirmed its support for its political settlement, respecting the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Republic of Moldova.
