Former Chief of Police General Inspectorate (PGI), Ion Bodrug, was issued an arrest warrant in his absence for weapon trafficking and passive corruption.
Consequently, prosecutors of Combating Organized Crime and Special Causes requested to issue international search for the ex-police officer.
According to the deputy head of the institution, Vitalie Busuioc, the accused would have committed the crimes while he was the head of the PGI.
Precisely, Bodrug alleged almost $ 25,000 to organize the illegal weapons trafficking in Ukraine.
The suspect was head of the PGI during 2013-2015.
Bodrug resigned after the employees of the Special Operations Directorate conducted a series of searches for several employees of the institution.
