Fake Consumer Protection Inspectors have been caught in Cantemir

Two men, 45 and 50, have been arrested in Cantemir for pretending to be inspectors Consumer Protection Inspectors in a shop and alleged a fine of 5,000 lei from the shop owner.
The men, residing in Chisinau, were detained on Friday, confirmed by Agency for Consumer Protection.
"They claimed to be ANSA officers and requested a fine of 5000 lei. The owner, however, refused to pay due to lack of money. Then the men embezzled 1600 lei", said ANDREI SÂRBU, Chief of Cantemir Police Inspectorate.
Police were alerted and detained immediately the individuals. They are suspected of being involved in other similar crimes in Iepureni village of Cantemir.
They risk a fine of 67,000 lei or jail of 6 years.
