Fallen heroes in Dniester War commemorated by families and locals
Heroes from Cioara village, Hânceşti district, fallen in the Dniester War, were commemorated by the locals.
Today is 26 years since Sergiu Andreev and Ovidiu Seremet lost their lives on battlefields. Their relatives, colleagues came to have moment of silence, additionally, poems were cited by students of Sergiu Andreev gymnasium in the locality.
The commemoration came from Russia and Sergiu Andreev's mother. The woman says that in the summer of 1992, having a grenade launcher on her, her son fought cruelly with the mercenaries and Cossacks in Tighina.
"If he had been lucky enough to survive, I would have beautiful grandchildren now. It was a good boy", said Valentina Andreeva, mother of Sergiu Andreev.
Sergiu Andreev was decorated with the Order of the Republic.
"The hero really deserves all the praise. Sergiu Andreev is the name of the students, and the disciples of this institution are worthy of this name," said Galina Gherela, director of Sergiu Adreev gymnasium.
Ovidiu Şeremet worked as a teacher of physical education at the gymnasium in the locality for over 20 years. The wife remembers her hero. She takes part annually at commemoration events.
"Memories always live with us, in every activity", said Eugenia Şeremet, wife of Ovidiu Şeremet.
The Dniester War began on 2 March 1992.
