Fewer Moldovans buy medical insurance individually
Fewer Moldovans get personally medically insured, according to the Medicine Insurance National Corporation.
Last year, their number dropped with 600, compared to 2014. The authorities warn the phenomenon endanger the health of the uninsured citizens and the well-functioning of the healthcare system.
"If more money is gathered, more free medicines can be freely prescribed. The matter is also about buying equipment for hospitals, repair works, to insure better services," said a clerk with the Corporation, Iuliana Garam.
According to the Corporation, over 48,000 people bought their medical insurances individually.
