Financial inspector detained for graft
A financial inspector employed by the Finance Ministry has been detained by the anti-corruption squad for graft.
According to the unnamed informant, the civil servant asked a bribe of 4,000 (about $ 200) lei from a company for not noticing irregularities in fiscal documents in a business relation with a village mayoralty from the southern district of Cantemir.
The inspector was caught red-handed as he was receiving the bribe.
If he is found guilty, he may serve a jail term of up to 10 years.
