Finland supports the Republic of Moldova's reforms and European aspirations
Prime Minister Pavel Filip and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Finland, Timo Soini have spoken today of bilateral cooperation, Moldova's relations with EU, reforms unfolded in Republic of Moldova and regional security.
Prime Minister Pavel Filip appreciated the political dialogue between the two states and mentioned that he wishes to strengthen bilateral relations. Prime Minister spoke of the main reforms that are currently being implemented, stressing that the Executive's actions are based on the EU Association Agreement and its main aim is to ensure an irreversible European track.
Here, Pavel Filip mentioned that he counts on Finland's support during its Presidency of the Council of the European Union, in the second semester of 2019, to offer a clearer perspective in relations with EU.
Minister of Foreign Affairs of Finland congratulated the Executive with the reforms that are being unfolded.
"Those are not easy changes, much work is done to ensure stability and predictability, which in the end will also lead better conditions for investors" Timo Soini said.
The officials have also spoken of the latest developments with Transnistria. Prime Minister claimed Finland's support as crucial in regulating the Transnistria conflict.
"One of the priorities is the withdrawal of Russian troops from the territory of Republic of Moldova. This conflict will be easier to solve without the presence of a foreign army" Pavel Filip said.
