Flowers laid at “Stefan cel Mare” and "Maica Indurerata” monument (Photos)
The marking of the 26 years of Independence begun, as per tradition. At 8:30 AM flowers were laid down at the monument of “Stefan cel Mare” and the memorial complex “Maica Indurerata” by Prime Minister Pavel Filip, Parliament's President Andrian Candu, Head of State Igor Dodon and other officials.
The authorities congratulated our citizens with the most important national holiday.
"First of all I would like to congratulate our citizens with Independence Day and let's not forget those who sacrificed their health, so that today we can celebrate 26 years of Independence. I'm sure that we all have hope that a better future awaits us" Parliament's President Andrian Candu declared.
"I truly believe that the Republic of Moldova has a future. Moldova will become a strong country. But we must first respect each other for this to happen. To not divide our society, but to unite. Only then will our country reach its full potential and we will be able to leave here, at home, with our beloved ones and proudly say: This is my homeland- the Republic of Moldova.Happy Birthday Moldova! Happy Birthday dear citizens" Prime Minister Pavel Filip said.
People who have gathered in the Capital's heart claim that it is an honor for them to be able o celebrate 26 years of independence:
"I feel great. I am very happy that our republic became independent, I hope for a peaceful future".
Many citizens have an optimistic view regarding our country's future:
"I'm sure it will only get better, but for us to progress we all have to input some effort. All of us".
"We wish the best for our country. For it to have perspective, to be like Switzerland. Our country can be like that, if no one disturbs the process".
"My biggest wish is to remain in this country and have potential here".
The Republic of Moldova marks today 26 years of independence.
