Foreign ministry asks Russia to stop the work of an NGO, which is alleged to be an official Tiraspol representative in Moscow
MFAEI condemns the speech by the representative of the "International Council of Russian Compatriots" (CIRC) to the plenary session of the 41st session of the United Nations Human Rights Council, which tried to distort the actions taken in the permanently by the Republic of Moldova on respect for and protection of human rights throughout the country, including in the Transnistrian region.
In the context of the aforementioned, the Republic of Moldova asked the CDO Secretariat to withdraw the text of the speech on the official website of the organization because it does not correspond to the content of the announced presentation and violates the provisions of international law.
We draw attention to the fact that respect for and protection of human rights in accordance with all international standards and commitments remains a priority objective for the authorities of the Republic of Moldova. The MFAEI considers that such provocative speeches from the stand of an international organization are counterproductive, being able to undermine the efforts made in the "5 + 2" negotiation process regarding the identification of a viable, peaceful and sustainable solution for the settlement of the Transnistrian conflict , based on the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Republic of Moldova within its internationally recognized borders, with a special status for the Transnistrian region.
MFAEI considers it absolutely unacceptable for the exponents of the anti-constitutional regime in Tiraspol to use non-governmental organizations from the Russian Federation as a paragon for political purposes and cooperate with the relevant UN structures to prevent situations that are contrary to the accreditation mandate and to the underlying principles respectively the Human Rights Council.
