Former deputy chief of National Agency for Food Safety (ANSA) is accused of passive corruption.
The suspect took meat products from an economic agents and in exchange allowed the import through sanitary veterinary and phytosanitary control from Chisinau, without certificates.
The former deputy chief has also requested wine form a local manufacturer, in exchange of avoiding any issues in the winery's activity.
The former official pleads not guilty. He risks to receive a fine, or to spend the next 7 to 15 years behind bars.
