Former deputy Chiril Lucinschi remains under house arrest. Magistrates have rejected the lawyer's request to free the defendant, as well as for a banking expertise to be performed. Therefore, examination for the case was finalized and the parties have one month to prepare before standing trial. Prosecutor explained why he wished for the house arrested to be prolonged.

"It could ruin the trial. In case the defendant leaves the country, based on the principle of a State not extraditing its own citizens, he could avoid serving his punishment" prosecutor Eugen Rudac said.

Chiril Lucinschi claims the he has no reason for feeling.

"I will never leave this country. Regardless of how many times I am called to court. I will stand each trial and prove my innocence. I have no remorse and have not committed a single crime against my people and country, I never took bribes" Chiril Lucinschi said.

Chiril Lucinschi's lawyer was also displeased with the news.

"The prosecutor has invoked some arguments that lack whatsoever proof. We requested today the court to do a financial expertise to establish some important factors. Everything that happens in Chiril Lucinschi's file is a paradox" lawyer Corina Stratan said.

Chiril Lucinschi was arrested on 25 May, within the case of the bank fraud scandal. He is accused that as someone who managed and benefited from companies Toast Delux SRL and IPA International Project Agency, he laundered big amounts of money. The former deputy risks to 10 years of imprisonment.
