Former head of the Anti-corruption Prosecutor's Office, Viorel Morari, was detained for a period of 20 days. The magistrates of the Court of Appeal rejected both the appeal made by Morari's lawyers and the prosecutors.
A criminal case related to forgery of administrative documents and abuse of power was filed against him on December 26. He was said to have committed these offense in 2017.
He denied all the wrongdoings.
