Government approved creation of National Pollutant Release and Transfer Register

During today's sitting, the Cabinet of Minister has approved the creation of National Pollutant Release and Transfer Register. The aim is to facilitate the access citizens have to the environment information possessed by public authorities.
The project foresees for a web page to be created, containing data on air, land and water pollution, which might harm both the environment and the people's health.
At the same time, annual reports will be elaborated on pollutant release and transfer. Therefore, in the condition that a larger audience will have access to information, citizens are urged to participate more actively in decision-making process in this field.
The creation of the Register will be financed by the Global Project on the Implementation of Pollutant Release and Transfer Registers (PRTR).
