Government approved the creation of a National Statistic Council

The Government approved today the creation of a National Statistic Council, as well as its component and regulations. The council represents a statistic consultative body, established with the aim to develop strategies and promote official statistics.
The main obligations of the new body is to come up with recommendations on improving the national statistics system, aiming to increase the satisfaction of users requirements, as well as promote concepts, methods and advances instruments in statistic activity, to ensure the quality of delivered information.
The council will have 11 members, representatives of central statistic authority, specialized bodies of central public administration that create official statistics, academicians and a member from BNM, business environment and civil society.
