Government enhances medical services access. No longer paper health insurance policy
People with medical insurances will no longer need to present paper to benefit the medical services or compensated medicines. In this sense, the notion "Compulsory health insurance policy" will be substituted by the notion "Insured Person's Status", according to the amendments approved today by the Executive of the Law on Compulsory Medical Insurance.
Therefore, the procedure of policy activation will also be simplified. State-insured citizens and economic agents will no longer have to go to the headquarters of the NHIC Territorial Agency to submit their paper-based policies.
Keeping records of state insured persons will be done through electronic reporting channels, where the necessary information will be collected from employers and empowered institutions. This will facilitate the process of population inclusion in the mandatory health insurance system.
Also, the exclusion of the obligation to hold a paper-based insurance policy will facilitate the digitization of public services, especially in the context of the implementation of the government electronic payment system, and will have a positive impact on the citizens of the Republic of Moldova who are abroad and pay the insurance premium in fixed amount.
