Government passed National Action Plan on Human Rights III for next 5 years
The National Action Plan on Human Rights (NAPAD) III, developed by the Ministry of Justice for the next 5 years, has been approved. The document contains policies to ensure respect for human rights in our country.
The primary objective of PNADO is to ensure that all citizens, especially the most vulnerable groups, enjoy their fundamental rights, legal framework and services delivered in line with international human rights standards. The implementation of the plan is a common task of the central and local authorities of the Republic of Moldova in cooperation with civil society and the development partners' community.
The document contains actions for the years 2018-2022, aimed at facilitating access to justice, ensuring freedom of expression, promoting equality, protecting the rights of people with disabilities, those in the localities on the left bank of the Nistru river and those belonging to the national, ethnic, religious minority groups and linguistics.
Also, PNADO's key directions aim at harmonizing the legal framework with international standards, protecting against discrimination, combating domestic violence, facilitating access to health care and quality education, increasing the employment level by offering employment opportunities.
PNADO III was preceded by two similar documents for the 2004-2008 and 2011-2014 periods. It was drafted on the basis of the recommendations addressed to our country by the United Nations (UN) monitoring bodies, the Council of Europe (CoE), the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe.
Financial resources for project implementation will be allocated from the national public budget, and certain segments will be financed by the complementary contributions of international organizations and development partners.
