Grandiose concert dedicated to 80th anniversary of Moldovan composer Eugen Doga
A grandiose concert dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Moldovan composer Eugen Doga was staged yesterday evening at the Opera Theater in Chisinau.
In 2014, one of his works was included onto the list of the 20th century masterpieces.
Overwhelmed by emotions, the composer thanked the ones having supported the put-on of the performance.
"I personally thank Mr. Filip not only for honoring me with his presence, but also because the Government he leads decided to declare this year as the Eugen Doga year," Eugen Doga said.
"The man we celebrate today is a man of the love, is a man who gave us love through his music and I hope he feels how much is our love for him. It’s the big master Eugen Doga, please lets applaud him!" said Culture Minister Monica Babuc.
Eugen Doga was born on March 1, 1937, in the village of Mocra on the left bank of the Dniester. He has received a series of Moldova’s top awards and orders.
He was included among the 200 personalities of the world and wrote the music for 200 movies.
