Hail destroyed agricultural lands from Calarasi and Anenii Noi districts
Rain and hail destroyed many villages from the country. The most affected were Calarasi and Anenii Noi districts. The storm destroyed the vegetables.
Victor Chicu from Horodiste village, Calarasi district says that the hail caused damages worth 200 thousand lei for his plum orchard and the ones of nuts.
"I have never have to face such a hazard. It it seems that this year won't be successful for us", said Victor Chicu, farmer from Horodiste.
Grigore Abajer takes care of 18 ha of vineyard and 27 ha of a plums orchard.
"This is the result of my work."
"If it is affected it will have another price. Everybody wants products of high quality", said Grigorie Abajer, farmer from Horodiste village, Calarasi district.
According to the local authorities, the hail damaged almost 90% of the products.
"There were affected the plums, strawberries, grapes. 70% of the village was affected", said Petru Ciobanu, mayor of Horodiste village, Calarasi district.
The residents of Maximovca village, Anenii Noi district complain that the hail destroyed the vegetables.
The residents of the village complain on the damage brought by the hail.
"We worked a lot and now we can remain without anything. This is terrible."
"If the hail was bigger, then, definitely, the damages would have been bigger.
"In the greenhouse everything is okay, nothing suffered. I was scared. I said that if it would have been bigger, the damages would have been bigger."
According to the representatives of the Ministry of Agriculture, Maximovca village from Anenii Noi was affected the most by the hail.
"What about Calarasi, they have a hail protection", said Vasile Sarban, direction chief within the Agriculture Ministry.
A few days ago, a strong rain damaged 50 ha of sunflower in Chircaiesti village, Causeni district. According to the inspectors of General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations, totally, 90 ha of rape were destroyed.
The hail damaged the village roads. To cover the costs of the destroyed things, the local authorities need 20 thousand lei. According to the representatives of the ministry of Agriculture, 1290 anti-hail missiles were launched since the rain falls started.
