A resident of Briceni district was sentenced, through partial cumulation of punishments, to 18 years in prison for robbery and murder, intentionally committed against his neighbor.

Crime occurred in 2016 in Bezeda village, Briceni. He broke into neighbor's house and asked for money she had received from abroad. The woman refused and was beaten by the 25-year-old. He wanted to erase all traces so he set the house to fire which killed the owner. 

He was immediately announced for searches as he left the country. The defendant was detained after a year by Russian authorities.
