Health Minister's touching message on Family Day: We wish united families where children grow happy
For me nothing is more important in life than the family, here we are born, we grow, we develop socially and spiritually, we learn human values, such as respect, tolerance, kindness, responsibility, inclusion and love. The message has been sent by Health Minister Svetlana Cebotari:
"Today, throughout the world, the International Day of the Family is celebrated to emphasize the importance of family and its values in society. This day gives us an opportunity to cherish and focus on family consolidation. This moment asks us what the family means for each of us.
For me nothing is more important in life than the family, here we are born, we grow, we develop socially and spiritually, we learn human values, such as respect, tolerance, kindness, responsibility, inclusion and love. The family is the most favorable environment for children's growth and development, so now, more than ever, together with the Government team we want to grow strong families in the Republic of Moldova.
In recent years, we have paid increased attention to the development of policies to promote birth, family protection, children, young people, the elderly, and support for families both in the country and abroad.
In this respect, starting in January 2018, we increased childbirth allowance, which is 5645 lei and monthly allowances for children from multiple births. We also drafted and promoted the Regulation on the functioning of social crèches, where children from 4 months to 3 years will be cared for, so socially vulnerable or low-income families will be able to continue their work.
Also this year, all children placed in alternative family-type care services will receive daily allowances and allowances for various holidays.
We want united families, where children grow happy, where both mother and father contribute to raising the baby right from the first days of life. Starting in 2017, fathers have paternity leave in the first 56 days of childbirth and are paid in the amount of 100% of their monthly income.
At the same time, we initiated and elaborated family support policies, providing protection and safety to families, especially vulnerable people. Through the Social Aid program, only in 2017, about 90,757 families benefited from an average social benefit of 900 lei. From 2018, the minimum guaranteed monthly income, used for the calculation of the social assistance entitlement and which is 1025 lei, was indexed.
Preventing domestic violence remains a priority for the ministry, and this year we approved the National Strategy for Preventing and Combating Violence against Women and Domestic Violence for the years 2018-2021, through this strategic document we have proposed ambitious promotional actions the zero tolerance of this phenomenon and the diminution of the flage given in the Republic of Moldova.
Today, my thoughts are directed towards every family in our country that they want to be strong, united and blessed. And we, together with the Government team, will continue to take action to strengthen the role of the family in society, promote family values, ensure a decent living, here at home, "said Svetlana Cebotari, Minister of Health, Labor and Protection social.
We note that the International Family Day was set up by the UN General Assembly on September 20, 1993, based on Resolution 47/237, to raise awareness of the importance of the family institute, to promote knowledge about socio-economic and demographic trends affecting family and efforts to stimulate
