The Moldovan Embassy discussed with the Moldovan diaspora in the region, as part of a project initiated by the country's ambassador to Abu Dhabi.

The provision of consular services, the organization of cultural events, the development of joint initiatives of the mission and the Moldovan diaspora were discussed at the first meeting of Ambassador Victor Haruta with the Moldovan diaspora under the title "Home away from house", organized at the Embassy of the Republic of Moldova in the United Arab Emirates.

The event gathered over 20 participants from all UAE regions.

"The Embassy is your home here in the United Arab Emirates, where you are welcome at any time and the Embassy team is at your disposal to provide you with all the necessary support," was the message of Ambassador Victor Haruţa addressed to the Moldovan community. 

During the event the citizens of the Republic of Moldova were informed about the Embassy's activity, the plans for the year 2019, the consular services provided, the programs for the Diaspora launched by the Government of the Republic of Moldova, the opportunity to express the right to vote in the parliamentary elections of 24 February 2019, be launched by the diplomatic mission. 

Also, citizens of the Republic of Moldova received answers to the questions but also came up with concrete proposals for increasing the visibility of the Republic of Moldova in the United Arab Emirates, promoting the Moldovan national culture and values, launching the diaspora support programs in the UAE, as well as other relevant proposals. 

"Home away from home" is a program of regular meetings with Moldovan nationals in the UAE, launched by Ambassador Victor Haruta. 

The program aims to ensure effective communication and fair and equitable information of Moldovan citizens from the UAE on government programs for the Diaspora, the latest developments in the Republic of Moldova, as well as Moldova's relationship with the UAE and other world countries.
