Hundreds of people came to National Palace to bid farewells to Alexandru Moşanu
Funeral services for first President of Moldovan Parliament, Alexandru Moşanu takes place today.

Hundreds of people came to the National Palace to bid farewells to the politician.
Among them counts Prime Minister Pavel Filip, as well as first President of Moldova, Mircea Snegur. Members of the Government also came to bid goodbye to the official, along with those who were present at the Great National Assembly Square, when Moșanu read the Declaration of Independence.
Since morning, the lifeless body of Alexandru Moșanu is held at the National Palace, where relatives, friends and colleagues gathered.
"Alexandru Moșanu passed away, one the founders of the struggle for our national emancipation, the one who was there to create the Republic of Moldova" deputy Iurie Leancă declared.
"I express my sincere condolence for his family, as it is a great loss. I hope that God will welcome him with open arms in heaven, where he will rest in peace" first President of Moldova, Mircea Snegur declared.
Even the colleagues of the first President of Moldovan Parliament came to bid Alexandru Moşanu farewell.
"I was among the first deputies in the Parliament, we signed it, while he read the Declaration of Independence. It is a great loss, he was a great man who achieved much."
"Our country lost a wonderful man, a good man with a big heart for his people and country and his followers must learn, to remember why we have gathered in hundreds of thousand at the first National Assembly, kneeling."
"He was a honorable men. I knew him personally. I was there, at the Great National Assembly Square, when he read the Declaration of Independence."
Alexandru Moşanu will be buried in the central cemetery from Armenească Street.
The first President of Moldovan Parliament passed away on 7th December, at 85.
The politician suffered from an incurable disease and had a surgery last year.
The first President of Moldovan Parliament was born on 19th July 1932, in Braniște commune, Bălți. Alexandru Moșanu was President of Moldovan Parliament from 3rd September 1990 to 2nd February 1993.
He is the one who read the Declaration of Independence on 27th August 1991, which was voted unanimously on that day by the 278 present deputies.
