"I AM MOLDOVA" Publika TV team greeted with bread and salt in south of country
Publika TV campaign continues its journey through the south of the country. Today, inhibitants of Tomai village, Leova district, Avdarma village, Gagauzia and Haragis village, Cantemir district said proudly: "I am Moldova". After old traditions Publika TV team was greeted with bread and salt.
Although Haragis village is a place with cheerful and welcoming, also its name is linked to the tragic accident in which a helicopter crashed SMURD earlier this summer. And all four crew members died. Witnesses recall the tragic accident with horror.
"The helicopter SMURD went flying over the house. Not after long time I heard a bang. I went all the way and ran into the side of the forest. One of them I could get out of the chair, I pulled from him out of the flame" , said a witness of the SMURD accident, Gheorghe Burlaga.
The event was attended by a representative of the Emergencies Service which paid tribute to the fallen.
"Firefighters every day risk their lives to save other people's lives. Thus did our colleagues from Romania, on June 2, going on a rescue operation, suffered a tragic accident and collapsed here in the forest near the Haragâş village. Dying on a such a heroic rescue mission" , said the Civil Protection and Emergencies Gheorghe Hanganu
Tomai villagers also greeted Publika TV team.
Tomai village dates from 1694. It is a village with rich traditions in winemaking and people who care about national values. Proof is the village museum, founded by locals.
"We decided to gather in this museum all national values of the village, of our ancestors. Today our museum founded almost three thousand exhibits. We have exhibits of almost 200 years, we have exhibits that show about our ancestors occupations" , said museum's founder, Elena Miron.
The national flag, the symbol of the campaign Publika TV, was hoisted in front of the House of Culture.
Publika TV team hoisted a flag in Avdarma village in Gagauzia.
Avdarma village is attested in 1806 and is predominantly populated by Gagauz people. This is the first village in Gagauzia in which our team hoisted the flag within the "I AM Moldova" campaign.
"The visit card of Avdarma village is History and Ethnography Museum, which the patron of the village opened in 2011. There are exhibited all the objects that characterize people and the villagers of Avdarma" said mayor fo the Avdarma village, Ivan Casîm.
Publika TV team will reach out to other places to highlight Moldovans' love of country and pride of for being Modlovan.
