Igor Dodon: Army's ready to respond to coronavirus
The army is ready to intervene in managing the situation triggered by the novel coronavirus. However, for the time being, the involvement of the police and other state institutions is sufficient, President Igor Dodon said after the weekly meeting with PM Ion Chicu and Parliament President Zinaida Greceanîi.
"We're ready. We spoke with the Defense Ministry. We have sufficient forces, capacities. We're ready to deploy the army. At present, the situation is practically handled", President Igor Dodon said.
Meanwhile, the president announced the World Health Organization already supports Moldova in the fight against COVID-19. We also receive aid from China and Russia.
The Head of State also said there are 2000 beds and 500 ventilators available the Moldova's hospitals.
