Igor Dodon: No school suspension and restrictions to be imposed
President Igor Dodon says the coronavirus pandemic is under control amid the significantly rising new infections. Accordingly, no new restrictions will be imposed, and the schools will not be closed. This is even if, out of the total number of infections, almost 400 cases were detected in schools.
"We are not examining at this stage the possibility of suspending the education system in Moldova", said Igor Dodon.
Igor Dodon also stated that no new restrictions will be imposed for economic activities either.
"We must give economic agents the opportunity to operate, function and we will continue to manage the situation."
The head of state also said that the medical system is prepared for the large number of infections and that there are enough places in hospitals.
Last week there was a record number of COVID-19 cases (868). Since the beginning of the school year, almost four hundred cases of infection have been detected in schools and kindergartens.
