IGSU continues to unfold campaign aiming to prevent drownings in Republic of Moldova. Rescuers have educated people from multiple regions of the country.
Most recent actions were organized by IGSU on the banks of Dniester, in Speia and Șerpeni villages from Anenii Noi, the pond from Ivancea settlement, Orhei, as well as Costești and Dănceni lakes from Ialoveni.
Rescuers have spread pamphlets containing information of the dangers a person can be put in if the norms are not respected. The campaign aims to prevent accidents in water and inform people the correct way to offer first aid in case of drowning. Rescuers urge people to only swim in specially managed places and to stay close to the bank.
At the same time, people are requested to supervise minors and to forbid them swimming alone. People were also advised against drinking alcohol when going to swim.
The campaign to prevent drowning was launched by IGSU on 8th June 2018 and will continue to unfold throughout summer in all regions of the country.
