International Woman's Day celebrated in Chisinau
Today, March 8th, women are being spoiled by attention from men.
It's the day they receive dozens of flowers and attention. While some are elated, others believe that the feast is discriminatory. With or without controversy, March 8th remains the day of reminder of how much women are being loved and appreciated.
Moldovan women study and work more than men but are paid less. They also commit fewer crimes, according to the data of National Bureau of Statistics, published on the occasion of International Women's Day.
According to statistics, women have a higher level of education compared to men. The largest gap is observed at higher education. Over 23 percent of women have graduated from university, and for men it is less than 17%.
Statistics show women live on average of eight years longer than men and they represent nearly 52 percent of the population.
